Music for Everyone

Offering music lessons for all ages and skill levels since 2014

Help Move Mode Music Studios

We are in need of your support, now more than ever. After almost 10 years in our building on Delridge Way, the impermanence of our location is becoming a reality. Sound Transit’s West Seattle Light Rail Extension has started the process of acquiring the buildings that house Mode Music Studios and Mode Music and Performing Arts (MMPA), as well as our dear friends and neighbors The Skylark, Ounces, and so many other cherished business sites in the West Seattle area.

Find a Group Class

MMPA Group Classes

We offer group classes in music and the performing arts at our nonprofit branch, Mode Music and Performing Arts (just two doors down from Mode Music West Studios West Seattle). All MMPA classes are offered at sliding-scale prices, as MMPA believes finances should never be a barrier to Arts Education.

Tiny Modes

Our music studio also offers group classes for kiddos ages 0-4 years with our Tiny Modes classes. We use both original tunes and the music of Caspar Babypants. This program encourages our littlest rockstars in movement, song, dance, play and story time all in one 45 min class. Tiny Modes offers both music and dance/movement-based classes multiple days per week.

Rock Band Classes

Mode also offers rock band group classes, where students who are interested in joining a band can be matched with each other and mentored by a member of a local band. If you’re interested, make a note in your application for lessons that you’d like to join a rock band, and our team will do their best to reach out to like-minded students to make your rockstar dreams come true!

Rock Band Summer Camps

Each summer, Mode offers week-long rock band camps for students ages 6-12 and 13+*. 2024 Camps will from June 24th to August 31st.

Students will rehearse 9:00am to 12:00pm for ages 6-12 and 12:30-2:30 for ages 13 and up* Monday through Friday. They’ll work on existing material and/or write original songs with one of our Mode multi-instrumentalist teachers guiding them. The performance takes place that Saturday for an audience of their family and friends at The Skylark Cafe!

Make it a full day by signing up for our afternoon camps at MMPA below!

*Additional afternoon options for students aged 13-18 available upon request. If you’re interested in adding a week of Rock Band Camps for Ages 13 and up, reach out to welcome@modemusicstudios.com

Creating opportunity for young musicians

Mode Music Studios began life as Erin Rubin Piano studios. After four years, and with an ever-growing clientele and continuing community interest, we decided to move into a new bigger space, creating more opportunity for young musicians to find their voice through private music instruction.

“The teachers at Mode are truly the best! They are musicians who know how to teach kids in a way that engages them and makes them want to learn & play. We are so grateful we have found Mode for our girls and recommend them to all of our friends.”

— Rachel L, Mode Parent
